A transformer bund only serves its purpose if it has capacity when it’s needed. SIPP Node ensures that through automated monitoring and management around the clock, detecting both filling and leaks in the bund.
A transformer bund is designed to collect oil in the event of a transformer failure and prevent it from spreading into the environment. But a bund full of rainwater has no capacity left when it’s actually needed. And a bund with oil content that isn’t emptied in time isn’t just an environmental risk — it’s a sign that the bund is no longer serving its function.
Traditionally this has been handled manually, with periodic checks and scheduled pumping. That has worked — but as requirements for documentation, environmental compliance, and operational safety increase, it’s no longer enough.
Environmental requirements for grid operators are continuously tightening, bringing increased administration and financial liability. An oil leak means both remediation costs and regulatory sanctions — a risk that’s currently kept in check through manual inspection and scheduled pumping, a time- and resource-intensive process, especially when staff are sent out on routine visits to bunds that don’t need attention.
SIPP Node continuously monitors water and oil levels in the transformer bund, detects oil content, and automatically controls alarm and pump sequences when needed. Continuous level measurement also makes it possible to detect if the bund itself is leaking — a risk that rarely shows up during manual inspections. Everything is documented and visualised in Gomero Insights, so you always have full control and a complete history of the bund’s status.
No manual inspection rounds. No uncertainty about when the bund was last emptied. Just automated, documented management around the clock — and a bund that’s always ready to serve its function.

If you don’t need full automation yet, there’s also Basic: a level sensor connected to Gomero Connect that continuously measures the water level in the bund, with automatic alarms at high levels via Gomero Insights. A cost-effective safeguard against flooding — and you can always upgrade to SIPP Node later, on the same platform.

Continuous monitoring and early leak detection.
Continuous monitoring and early leak detection.
SF6 gas in your circuit breakers is a direct indicator of breaker health — and a leak is both an environmental risk and an early warning sign of deterioration. Continuous monitoring detects it long before it becomes an operational problem and gives you the foundation for a confident phase-out.
Continuous condition monitoring for longer asset life.
Continuous condition monitoring for longer asset life.
Transformers deteriorate gradually and rarely give clear warning signals in time. Continuous monitoring of oil condition — from moisture, hydrogen and temperature to full gas analysis — gives you the factual basis for both maintenance and reinvestment decisions.
Climate monitoring for equipment longevity and safety.
Climate monitoring for equipment longevity and safety.
Temperature and humidity affect the lifespan of electrical equipment and backup power — and the safety of your personnel. Continuous monitoring ensures conditions are always kept within the right intervals.
