The first thing that comes to my mind is my colleagues, that the whole organization is a team. We are such a lovely group of inspiring, wise and caring individuals. And of course that the tasks feel meaningful, that what we deliver is important – then it’s fun to go to work. A clear proof that I enjoy it, is that I am still working here after more than 15 years, it means that it’s fun and developing all the time. It never stands still!
I think it’s important to challenge yourself, life becomes very boring otherwise. Continuously working with oneself, being curious, broadening and renewing one’s knowledge is important both personally and for the company. It’s all too common for companies to invest in expensive tools and digital solutions but they forget about the people in the form of increased knowledge.
Curiosity has always driven innovation! If we take sustainability for example, I believe very strongly in what we do there, because we begin with ourselves. Sustainability is not created through administration and policies, but rather through curiosity and innovation and the knowledge from each individual coworker.
Gomero as a company is also born out of a curiosity to help customers. We have been curious about our customers’ problems and that is how our solutions have been developed, in combination with the knowledge we have.
I almost have a hard time choosing because I have so many fun memories during my time here. But one that stands out is when I visited a customer for installation in northernmost Finland. The landscape was incredibly beautiful, surrounded by snow and curious reindeers. In addition, just a few weeks later, I got to visit a customer in Australia where the surroundings instead consisted of tropical heat, Eucalyptus trees and kangaroos outside the fence is definitely an extra fun memory that I carry with me.
